So many memories I can’t forget…
your smile, your laugh,

every single time we went out together,

Your name came up during a conversation with one of my friends. I didn’t know who you were, so I asked her. She told me a little about you and I thought you were interesting. I wanted to meet you. When we finally chatted, I was able to prove you were not only interesting… you were exactly like me. It was like talking to myself, except the fact that it was a male version of me. We like the same music, we watch the same TV series, we love the same movies… We are both dark and twisty, none of us is going to show any sign of feeling down or admit the reason why we aren’t having a good day. We don’t mind staying in a room in silence with another person for hours, without saying one single word. It’s scary talking to you and keep discovering we are so alike, but at the same time it’s comfortable. I hope I get to be your bad twin (as you called me once) for a long time, I really need a good twin capable of understanding me.

You asked me if something was wrong. I told you part of what I was feeling, I didn’t want to scare you… I didn’t want to lose you. You told me you loved me just as a friend. I said I was OK with that. I lied. I wasn’t even near to be OK, I was completely destroyed inside, I was a mess, it took me months to smile again and not fake it. I acted like nothing happened so we could keep being ‘friends’. But we weren’t able to maintain our friendship as time went by… And you know why was that? Because we were never friends. You never cared about me in that way and I never cared about you in that way, either. I can’t help to think we did something wrong… our relationship wasn’t normal and I’m still trying to figure out what happened between us. We weren’t friends, but we weren’t lovers. We kind of broke up… but how can you break up with someone you never dated? How did we get to the point of not even talk to each other for months? Maybe I shouldn’t be asking myself all these questions… Maybe this is all in my head and I’m the only one who is still stuck in her own feelings…
